Ever Dream This Man?

This odd-looking man was said to have been quite the guidance counselor in the dreams of a psychiatric patient. The patient had never seen this man in real life, but her dreams were repeatedly plagued by him, and so she drew a sketch at the beginning of 2006. Her psychiatrist decided to send the portrait to other colleagues with troubled patients, and so the spread of This Man came to everyone's attention. 

Dozens of encounters with this man in people's dreams have been reported, most common is that This Man acts as a good Samaritan, often helping people find their way out of a nightmare. 

There are also some...weirder dream encounters coming from the site thisman.org covering information on the phenomenon: 

▐"I fell in love with him from the very first time I saw him in my dream. Even though if I think about it I must admit he’s really ugly. And yet each and every time, he sweeps me off my feet with his romantic gestures and sweet words. He buys me flowers, jewelry, he takes me out to dinner or to the beach to watch the sunset."

▐“I saw this man in my dream, dressed as Santa Klaus. When he showed up I felt so happy, just like when I was a little girl. Then he smiled at me and his head became a balloon,floating in the air above me, but no matter how hard I tried to catch it, I just couldn’t reach it.”

So how could This Man appear in hundreds of people's dreams- people who don't even share the slightest relation? We could look at different theories such as dream hopping; in which a real life person can share your dream. There are also imitation and recognition occurrences in which we could imitate what we see in our dream states (aka, you've seen the sketch of This Man and you're more probable to dream of him depending on how the image has been impressed onto you). 

However, looking into these theories would be a waste of your time. 

Why?

Because, you've been hoaxed. 

Sociologist and marketing mastermind, Andrea Natella, designed This Man as part of her many projects  that aim to expose the need for new media and overall media manipulation. Natella is the head of Guerriglia Marketing agency, and reading up on their pseudo-event projects, it seems like their most successful hoax was an UFO landing that caught full local media coverage in the Northern Italy region and took significance in national media. 

So who is This Man, really? 

Well, it appears that This Man is actually every man in that the sketch is a combination of common facial features that can have people use their minds to fill in any blanks based on their own perspectives. 

So there it is! Spooky dream man DEBUNKED.
